FAQ – AFTER REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE, WILL I NEED A TANK LINER?

Ken’s knowledge and expertise means that you won’t need to purchase a tank liner once your repair is complete. Ken has over 20 years experience repairing cracked and damaged concrete tanks, so he knows what products work and how to achieve the best results.

Most concrete tanks can be repaired, the same cannot be said for steel or plastic tanks though, it’s best to speak to a tank liner specialist to find out more information if you own a plastic or steel water tank that needs to be repaired.

If you own a concrete tank that needs repairing and you live within our service region, Kens Tank Repairs will be able to assist you. Ken has been working in the tank industry for a long time and there are not many concrete tanks that he has come across that are beyond repair, particularly if they are still in use.

During the tank repair process, tanks need to be fully drained of their contents and cleaned thoroughly so that cracks can be identified and filled. After cracks are filled, a primer product can then be applied which is followed by a waterproofing membrane top coat. The waterproofing membrane layer ensures that water does not seep out of your newly repaired tank.

Below are some images of the interior of a 100,000 litre water tank that has been repaired on the inside of the tank. Cracks were filled, the primer coat was applied and then the waterproofing membrane.
